About me

Get on the same page.

Nate JL has a fever for which there is only one cure: screenwriting. I finished the first of my first drafts in 2009 – a years-long addiction of chasing the high of the ideation/breaking/pre-draft/first-draft screenwriting phases – and chased that intoxication for the next decade. The result? Seven first drafts. One made it to a second draft. Another made it to five drafts before I put it to sleep. And then I was determined to finish something. Anything. An opportunity arose with external accountability, and I jumped at it: a story that would combine two of my great loves, videogames and an underdog tale. Given the nature of the project and its intended funding, I heartbreakingly put that one on ice during the COVID Pandemic. Then it was back to the drawing board, minus external accountability. I deliberately took the 'scenic route' with my next idea, determined to test a wide range of the right (and wrong) ways to draft and redraft. Four years and 10 major drafts later, it was ready to send. Then I used that momentum to resurrect the underdog tale. And I got that ready to send. After squirrelling money away for years, I went all in on screenwriting from March 2026. Now two more of my scripts are ready to send, with three more in the pipeline.
